The rod's taper is slower than the previous generation and painstakingly fine-tuned to provide that elusive balance of forgiving cushion and responsive spring-back that enhances jerkbait rhythm and control.
Designed to bring jerkbaits like the ONETEN, ONETEN Jr., and X-80 to erratic-darting life, it converts slack line rod work into crisp, controlled movement. Oversized guides enable dynamic adjustments to line tension to quickly adapt jerkbait action and cadence to changing bite conditions.
The JERKBAIT SPECIAL's torque-rich blank and forgiving bend also performs well with 3/8 to ½ oz topwaters, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and vibration baits, delivering solid hook-up performance during aggressive strikes.

Just got this rod, and it is incredible! I love the lightweight feel, the action, and the overall build quality. It outperforms some of my much more expensive rods! The threading is absolutely perfect, and the fit and finish are on par with the quality of Megabass Oneten jerkbaits.
The rod feels extra-fast in action, providing excellent responsiveness and precision, but when you hook into a fish, it loads deep into the blank, giving you a surprising amount of flex and control. It really feels like the perfect balance of sensitivity, responsiveness, and fish-fighting capability.
I’m genuinely impressed with this rod, and I think I’m going to have to expand my collection with more rods from this line!
P.S. I almost never leave reviews, but that’s how impressed I am with this rod. Also, big shout-out to Rod Locker for shipping it in a Schedule 40 PVC tube to make sure it arrived safely and didn’t get damaged in transit. I really appreciate the extra care!
